The Mink River flows gently, making it ideal for both novice and experienced kayakers. The best access point for launching kayaks is the public boat launch at Rowleys Bay Resort, which offers easy entry to the river and is well-equipped for visitors. From here, you can embark on a serene journey through the river’s meandering waters, surrounded by dense forest and marshland that are teeming with birdlife, including herons, eagles, and many migratory species.

As you paddle, keep an eye out for the rich array of flora and fauna that thrive in the protected waters of the estuary. The calm and relatively shallow waters make it easy to observe the vibrant aquatic life beneath the surface.

Note: The Mink River is a protected area, so please respect the natural environment. Stay on designated waterways, and avoid disturbing wildlife or their habitats. Remember to carry out all trash and belongings to help preserve the beauty and cleanliness of the estuary.
